Point of the Proposed Technology
For cutting of CFRP, a large equipment such as laser and waterjet is used. We would like to propose an ultrasonic cutter as a relatively simple cutting tool. Use of the ultrasonic cutter enables an environmentally-friendly (few chippings produced), fast and easy cutting of unnecessary portions of a molded thermoplastic CFRP part.
Three-dimensional cutting is also possible by attaching the tool to the robot hand.
