Point of the Proposed Technology

1) Thermoplastic pre-preg materials (8exe: Eightex)
(i) Broad (1-M width) UD (unidirectional) pre-preg sheets/slit tapes
(ii) Cross materials pre-preg


・A wide variety of plastics materials can be used (PP. PA, PC, TPU, PPS, LCP, PEEK, PEKK, etc.).
・It is possible to put them into production in combination of existing technologies such as injection molding.
・It is possible to study an impact to future environment as materials with recyclability.
・It is possible to make additional processing such as partial reinforcement.

New Technology

Raw materials in use: Carbon fibers, glass fibers, aramid fibers, and other high-strength fibers.
Tape width: The tape width can be set to any value.
Minimum width:    2.0 mm; maximum width: 1,000 mm @ medium temperature type
Minimum width:    2.0 mm; maximum width: 300 to 500 mm @ high temperature type (from December 2019)
Tape length:    Maximum 2,000 M (currently) Further i ncrease of length under consideration
Thickness:    Minimum: 0.04 mm; maximum: 0.35 mm (performance-based); Thickness level can be adjusted.
Surface smoothness: High surface smoothness has made it possible to adapt to high-speed processes such as ATL/TLP.
Mechanical properties: There is high performance to realize the strength of theoretical values according to the compounding rule.
Tailored capability: It is possible to respond to individual setting in line with customer specifications
