Point of the Proposed Technology

The structure using thermoplastic CFRP can be molded in one minute.
Stiffness and costs equivalent to those of the aluminum structure are realized by lighter structure than that of the aluminum.
It is possible to respond to mass production on the scale of 100,000 units per year.

New Technology

Continuous carbon fibers and thermoplastic resin pellets are kneaded by the biaxial extruding machine, and extruded materials are placed in the cutting,conveying, and material handling processes, and finally high-speed press molding is applied.
The LFT-D press molding can be made at a high speed and low cost, and offers adhesion capability.
A study result of the chassis structure (succeeded in replacement of aluminum chassis of the Lotus Elise)
