・In the cutting process of carbon fiber reinforced resin (CFRP) by which the tool wears out very quickly, adoption of crystal diamond coating having an enhanced crystalline and an increased wear resistance greatly increases the life of tool.
Longer life of tool (over double the life of a general-purpose tool)
Reduction of uncut remnant or tear

Problems in processing of CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastics)
CFRP = Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics
New material made by laminating carbon fiber fabrics and hardening them with resin
1) Quick wear
・Hard carbon fiber: 6,000 to 8,000 HV
⇒ When a general carbide tool is used, it wears out quickly and becomes short-lived
2) Delamination or uncut remnant easily occurs.
・When a dull cutting tool is used, laminated carbon fibers are not cut, and interlaminar delamination or uncut remnant occurs, resulting in defect in quality.
3) Low heat resistance
・Since the heat-resistant temperature of resin is about 200°C, the processing heat must be suppressed.
⇒Cutting edge having a low resistance and a good sharpness required.
